New Zealand Child of Student Visitor Visa
Overview
This visa allows children to stay in New Zealand with their parents who hold a New Zealand Student Visitor Visa. The children may also study for up to 3 months in New Zealand, if longer than three months they will need a separate student visa. The parents can apply for their child’s visa at the same time as their student visa, but it will only be granted once the application is approved. The stay period and visa validity granted will match the duration of the parents' student visitor visa.
The child is considered dependent if they:
- Are 17 years old or younger, or
- Are 18–19 years old with no children of their own, and
- Rely on the parents for financial support.
If your children wish to study at level of primary or secondary school in New Zealand, you may visit this page.
