The Exchange Visitor (J1) visa is a visa that granted to individuals to participate in exchange visitor programs in the United States. This visa also applicable for LPDP and Fulbright programs.
The J-1 Visa provides countless opportunities for international candidates looking to travel and gain experience in the United States. The multifaceted programs enable foreign nationals to come to the U.S. to teach, study, conduct research, demonstrate special skills or receive on the job training for periods ranging from a few weeks to several years.

The validity period of a U.S. visa is 5 years. However, in certain cases, it can range from 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, to 5 years. The duration of validity depends on the decision of the consular officer granting it.
To take part in one of the J-1 Visa programs, please locate and contact a designated sponsor. The designated sponsors supervise the application process and are the main point of contact throughout the exchange program process.

To be eligible for this visa, you need to fulfill all of the following conditions:
- Must not have been rejected for a USA visa in the past six months.
- Passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure date from the USA.
- Ensure the passport contains at least two blank visa pages.

A letter stating detailed information of your J1 applications purpose (i.e: for study, research plan, training)
Training/Internship Placement Plan, Form DS-7002 – if the student participating in Trainee and Intern categories also need the DS-7002 form
