Japan Transit Visa
Overview
Japan Transit Visa is a short-term visa intended for applicants who need to transit through Japan, with a maximum stay of up to 15 days. This visa is strictly for transit purposes and cannot be used for tourism or employment.
A transit visa may be used to continue travel to a third country via a Japanese airport or seaport, to stay for one or two nights before a connecting flight, and in certain cases, to visit family or relatives during a short transit period.
Please note that not all airports in Japan have international transit areas. If you need to transfer between airports or terminals and must pass through Japanese immigration, a transit visa is required. However, a transit visa is not required if you do not pass through immigration (remain airside at the same airport), your transit is less than 24 hours, and you do not leave the airport.
