The Visa Approval Letter is intended for international students who have received an Offer Letter or Letter of Acceptance from a Malaysian Public University or Private Higher Education Institution to pursue full-time studies. This VAL is only applicable to new students who are currently residing outside of Malaysia.
If the application is approved, you will receive the VAL and the EMGS Approval Letter. Once you have both documents, you are required to obtain a Student Single Entry Visa (SEV) prior to your departure to Malaysia. Click here to apply for SEV through SPUN.
The fee paid for the VAL application includes the cost of the Student Pass, I-Kad, medical check-up, and health insurance, all of which will be processed and issued after your arrival in Malaysia.
To be eligible for this visa, you need to fulfill all of the following conditions:
- The passport must be valid for at least two years from the departure date to Malaysia.
- No visa rejection for Malaysia in the past six months.
- The passport must have at least two blank visa pages.
- Size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, Max. size 2Mb (2pcs)
- Not older than 7 months
- Has never been used in any other visa.
- File format using *.JPEG/ .JPG/ .PNG in color
- White background
- Proper composition
- No edit allowed
- No accessories is allowed

Provide a certified copy of your academic transcripts and educational certificate (Degree, Diploma etc.) or letter/statement from your Overseas Education Institution.
The copy/scan must show page 2 and 3 of your passport
If it shows name changes, previous passport numbers, or visa pages, ensure all are scanned and uploaded as one PDF file.
