Netherlands Long-Stay Visa (MVV)
Overview
MVV (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf) is a long-term entry visa (Type D) intended for foreign nationals who wish to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days, including for study purposes, family reunification, or employment. This visa takes the form of a visa sticker affixed to your passport and serves as the initial entry permit to the Netherlands before you acquire the approved residence permit.
The application for this MVV Netherlands Visa is only applicable to applicants who have received approval for MVV and Residence Permit from the immigration office (IND) in the Netherlands, submitted by a host/sponsor/institution in the Netherlands. After arriving in the Netherlands, MVV holders must collect their residence permit from the local immigration office (IND) within the specified timeframe.
